ABOUT
HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE LOOK GOOD ON CAMERA
My name is Amr Assaid and I am a portrait photographer & director of creative shorts. My love for photography started at the tender age of four, when I won my first Minolta as a first-prize in a drawing competition. Fast forward four decades later, I now work with an eye for the aesthetic and 12+ years of client-facing global advertising experience. Lately, I’ve picked up my camera to bring both worlds together to tell single or multi-framed stories about your brand.
My film background influences my work. Cinematographers like Emmanuel Lubezki (Tree of Life; The New World), Janusz Kamiński (The Diving Bell & The Butterfly) and Guillaume Schiffman (Gainsbourg: Vie Héroïque), as well as photography masters like Erwin Olaf, Patrick Demarchelier, and Richard Avedon all inspire the way I look at life.
I currently live in Amsterdam, but my lust for travel persists. The farther the shoot, the more interesting it gets.
